UNIECO GREEN CUP
Following the need for sports events and an annual football knockout competition,
Must Be Event organised and presented the UNIECO Green
Football Cup at Pala Brescia just before Christmas.
Pala Brescia, where music and theatre had been presented during the year was transformed into a small indoor football stadium where grit, fair play and determination decreed the winning team. The UNIECO Green Football Cup was intended to be like a Youth Champions League Cup. Competition between teams from many parishes in the genuine spirit of a strong union between friendship and individual sporting expression.
Besides friendship, happiness and football another reason for this event was to donate part of the proceeds to UNICEF.
Taking place on the 22nd and 23rd of December the full experience of 5-A-Side
soccer was enjoyed by all 32 teams from different parish youth clubs competed
and challenged in over 30 knockout matches on the specially laid 25x20 meters
synthetic pitch. Over 300 young boys and girls from 12 to 14 years old enthusiastically
took part in this event. The first prize for winning team was a € 20.000
discount voucher for a synthetic pitch for their parish.
